Delivery Yo is a Ugandan quick-commerce start-up Developed by K Intelligent Technologies in 2021. It is an on-demand courier service that purchases, picks up, and delivers products ordered through its mobile app. It offers multiple services with food delivery, grocery being the most popular. The company was founded by Kiberu Edwin Ronald
The company started in the community of Mutundwe and eventually expanded into other regions in Uganda. In August 2021, Delivery Yo added electronics and other products to its platform.
In October 2021, in an effort to achieve profitability, Delivery Yo decided to make its platform a multi-vendor app to allow other shop vendors to leverage on the platform to increase sales.
And with the introduction of the 12% Tax in Uganda, several tech companies faced the challenge of serving their communities since many of them used the internet to serve their community members. This tax forced many Ugandans to reduce their internet consumption rate which made very many startup companies lose out on their customers.
As of January 2022, Delivery Yo is operational in the different parts of Uganda.
Food and grocery delivery service is the company's most popular service. Other services available include pharmacy, courier, and quiero (anything).
The food business allows users to find and place orders with their favorite restaurants and shops which are picked up when ready and delivered to the user's doorstep. While this model continues to be its flagship service, the company is reported experimenting with shop vendors.
